Peace :)
Whenever I think or hear about peace I think about how we all try to have peace around the world yet, we keep doing things that will harm other people. For example, we don’t cooperate with having peace amongst each other when we are being racist, this is one of the biggest issues we have, and it is one of the reasons why we don’t have peace around the world. People shouldn’t judge other people because of the way they look or the color of their skin. We are all the same even if we have a different skin color. Another important reason why we don’t have peace is because of all the fighting around the nation. For example, The United States of America with Iraq. They have been in War for almost 10 years. If there wasn’t so much fighting and so much jealousy around the world, there wouldn’t be so much hatred against other countries. Yes, other countries may have better things than other countries, but why not have an agreement with them? They can help you out to get some of the things they have. Maybe by having that arrangement causes fewer arguments against each other and helps both of the countries. Also, I think about how our soldiers are out there fighting for our safety, and for us to have peace and not worry about another terrorist attack or issue with another country. Some have even fought to death and we don’t see how much this means to their family members.

I do think that race plays a big roll on peace. African American and Mexican Americans have fought long and hard to be seen as humans and not just a race, but networks and companies that are putting race back into play such as BET (Black Entertainment Television) and BlackPeopleMeet.com. These companies are putting labels that Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks attempted to peel off. If the tables were turned would it be racist, such as a White Entertainment Television or WhitePeopleMeet.com? Before race, it was religion. After the attack on September 11, many Americans saw terrorists as Muslims, but in reality they were Muslim extremist. I don’t agree that it was because of jealousy. I believe it was because hatred, and the truth is many countries hate us for our history. We are not always the good guys. Americans see Nazis as horrible people and constantly question how could someone do something like that, but if look at our history and how we treated the Native Americans, you can see that we are similar if not, worse. The truth is we lost all lot of support from other countries after we dropped nukes on Japan. It’s kind of ironic that now we want to be seen as heroes because we are looking for weapons of mass destruction. The solution to this problem seems to be education. By educating the public, you can limit racism because racism usually follows those who don’t know any better.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your reasons to why we don't have peace. I think its sad how we say we treat each other equally but yet people are still fighting over race or religion and such. I also agree when you said that different countries could help each other out. It definitely makes sense if they made an agreement to help each other out and it would make the world that much better!
ReplyDeletei would have to agree on half of the things you are saying. as long as there is fear there will never be peace. other countries fear us because of how strong we are and of how we hold almighty powerful weapons. but when another country has a powerful weapon we attack them for being the bad guys.
ReplyDeleteracism would have to be eliminated before there could ever be peace amongst us.
I agree with you I think we first need to work on having peace with each other and then work on having peace with the world.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right. Prejudice as well as racism are big issues that are plaguing America. If we can not even make a true effort to eliminate this along with other stigmas it is hypocritical to even consider helping others. If we really want peace we should start by accepting others for who they are not judging them for who we wish they were.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you with what you said that eveybody wants peace, but yet people do stuff that harm others. Racism is not right, people need to know that we are all equal and the same and that nobody is better than the other one. We should all have the same rights no matter what color, religion, family, etc. we are. And to start this peace we should start having peace with ourselves in order to start having peace in the world.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you completely in the sense that peace is something that we all want, but we do things that prevent us from getting there. We need to work to find peace with each other before trying to bring peace throughout the world.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that we try to make peace but instead fight and argue like racist people do. I also say that we should first have peace with ourselves before we try to make peace with other countries.
